House No. 98: Coffee House

House No. 98: Coffee House
espresso maker, ink on paper, cellophane tape
7 in. x 6.5 in. x 3.75 in.
098/365; 04/08/11

Today's house is built upon Marcel Duchamp's concept of the readymade. I think this house looks like a sweet row house. The proprietors live upstairs from their coffee shop, and their home always smells of roasting coffee beans and fresh biscotti.

  1. Fantastic, and reminds me of the Recyclart facebook profile pic! That style of pot really cries out to be reinterpreted, doesn't it?

  2. Thank you for pointing me to Recyclart, Jess. I am now a fan. Yes, those mokka pots are so beautifully designed that they beg to be played with. And they make a fabu cup of espresso too!

  3. This reminded me a a real place that I remembered seeing a historic photo of, maybe California, maybe Route 66, but it perhaps now is lost like the structure probably is. I did however come across this to share with you. ♥
